UHF Cards
UHF (Ultra High Frequency) ID technology is mainly used in vehicle identification and logistics. The reading range of UHF passive ID tags is usually from 2 to 10 meters. Active ID tags (with their own power source) can be read even from a distance of 150 m. The main disadvantage of UHF technology is that water absorbs RF energy in the UHF range. The human body is mostly composed of water, which means that it would be difficult to read UHF ID tag close to the human body. The area of best UHF coverage is to be in line-of-sight to send or receive a signal.
