MIFARE Cards
MIFARE cards and card readers were originally developed by Philips to handle payment transactions for public transport. Since development in 1994 Mifare technology become a popular solution for access control, time and attendance and stadium ticketing. Because of the 4-Byte limit all possible Unique Identifiers are depleted. New produced mifare-chips are now offered by NXP in two different versions: 4 Byte Non-UID and 7 Byte UID.
MIFARE cards are still popular as transport tickets, especially Ultralight version. Apart from NXP genuine chips there are third party ISO/IEC 14443 Type A 13.56 MHz compliant chip manufacturers available. Most popular and reliable are Mango or Fudan.
